Global publishing company John Wiley & Sons has reported net income of $13.8 million for the first quarter of its 2022 fiscal year ending 31 July 2021, down from $16.3 million reported for the first quarter of fiscal year 2021.

Revenue for the Hoboken, New Jersey-based company’s first quarter was $488.4, up 13% from $431.3million reported for Q1 2021.

John Wiley & Sons president and chief executive Brian Napack said: “Wiley’s steady execution of growth strategies in open research, online education, and talent development drove another quarter of strong revenue and profit gains. Our strategies continue to be tightly aligned with accelerating long-term trends across academic and corporate markets, and we are well-positioned to drive social impact by enabling discovery, powering education and shaping workforces.”
