Exclusive: Childcare training business Parenta comes to market
Parenta, a UK-based childcare training and software provider, has mandated FRP Advisory to run a sale of the business, EducationInvestor Global can reveal.
This publication has learnt that the company has been marketed off an EBITDA of around £2-2.5 million, at a valuation in the £20 million region, according to a source close to the process.
The sale process has attracted both small private equity funds and trade buyers and has just reached its second round, according to a second source.
Founded in 1999 by chief executive Allan Presland, Parenta offers apprenticeships, training and software solutions to childcare providers. Its range of courses includes level 2 and 3 childcare diplomas for early years practitioners and educators, level 3 business administrator courses, and several CPD e-learning courses. The company provides training to around 3000 learners a year, according to its website.
Parenta is fully owned by Amplify Investments, an investment boutique that targets small businesses across the education and renewables sectors and is led by Presland.
Parenta was previously owned by MBH Corporation, a listed investment firm that backs small and medium-sized companies across multiple geographies and sectors. MBH acquired the business in July 2018 and divested it in May 2021.
