UK: Bright Stars Nursery Group purchases Cheshire Day Nursery group
Bright Stars Nursery Group has acquired The Cheshire Day Nursery group comprising four nurseries and one kindergarten which occupy extensive freehold and leasehold properties in and around the Northwest of England, including Latchford, Winwick and Thelwall.
Founded in 2000 by sisters Julie Mannering and Brenda Burling, who are retiring, the nursery portfolio has a combined operating capacity for around 464 children aged from newborn to five years old, with annual fee income of more than £3 million.
The sisters commented: “We are both delighted that we have found a fantastic home for our nurseries after 20-plus years in running the settings. We were very focused on making sure that when we did sell we left the all the staff, children and parents in very good hands and we feel we have done this with Bright Stars. Like any sales process this has been an eventful journey but we wish Stephen and all of his team at Bright Stars the very best and hope they continue to build on what we have achieved over the years.
Bright Stars’ Stephen Booty said: “We are delighted to have acquired Cheshire Day nurseries and the four wonderful nurseries will add significantly to our presence in the Northwest. The nurseries have built a strong reputation for outstanding childcare. We look forward to working with the staff, the parents, their children and continuing to build on the legacy of Julie and Brenda.”
Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale which was sold for an undisclosed price.
